The “Grand Meaulnes” won the Group I Criterium de Vitesse (53rd Edition) at Cagnes sur-mer today after taking the lead before the half and holding off the German bred Brioni (Timberland-Armbro Edith-Florida Pro) and Priscilla Blue with Nouba du Saptel 4th. Meaulnes covered the mile in 1:54.2 for trainer/driver Pierre Levesque and now has life earnings of over 2.78 million euros. The Lou Guida owned and Jerry Riordan trained Lisa America raced competitively to finish 6th. This race is the second in the European Grand Circuit and typically begins the selection process for the Elitlopp at Solvalla the last weekend in May.
